On the 20th anniversary of the first motorway service, Midland Red's preserved C6, 5656 (BHA 656C) and then brand-new 775 (BVP 775V) did a commemorative run from Birmingham Digbeth to London Victoria and back.
Aboard the Leopard was a party of guests including civicleaders, transport bosses, and the press with one of the original motorway drivers at the wheel.
The C6 did not have a PSV licence so had to run light.
These pictures were taken on that day - 30 years ago today. |
